The Story Of Tatty Bat

A beautiful tale of adventure, friendship and Christianity

About Us

Holy Trinity Collegiate Church is home to Tatty Bat

Holy Trinity Collegiate Church, is a national treasure set in the beautiful town of Tattershall, Lincolnshire.

There are 900 plus bats living in Holy Trinity Church, the largest bat colony in any inhabited building in the country...

Joe Gillatt befriends Tatty Bat

This is a true story about the church and the bats, with an additional twist - a fantasy about how a little boy, Joe, walks into church through an open door and meets a new friend Tatty Bat, who speaks to him!

Children who read about this unusual friendship will learn about bats and about the history of the church (built in 1439) And how the bats know all about Jesus because they hear all the services. The story centres on the problem Tatty Bat tells Joe about = that so few local people seem to even know where the magnificent medieval Holy Trinity Church is...

Then, after several adventures, the little boy and Tatty Bat find a way to resolve the problem.

Let the children read - and they will learn, Let them learn - and they will travel far...

When you have finished with the book, please give it to a friend or member of your family to enjoy.
